On May 12th, 2021, EMPSi facilitated a live public hearing webinar for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Caribbean Ecological Services Field Office in Puerto Rico.

This webinar allowed attendees to learn more about the proposal to downlist the Virgin Islands Tree Boa and the Eugenia woodburyana from endangered to threatened under the Endangered Species Act. This webinar included a narrated slideshow presentation to provide an overview of the proposed downlistings, as well as a facilitated public hearing portion, during which participants could offer public comments on the proposed downlistings via the Zoom web platform or over the phone. This webinar included live Spanish text translations during the hearing to allow increased accessibility for bilingual attendees.

Included below are some clips from this facilitated webinar. A recording and transcript of this public hearing webinar are available to the public. For more information on this project, please visit the project website.
